Outcomes-Driven Acuity displays a patient's acuity level and assessment based on:

Acuity Targets and Average Acuity Calculations in Reports

Acuity by Time of Day	The average acuity is calculated by taking the sum of each patient's current acuity level (determined by a completed assessment or the default acuity level) and dividing the sum by the number of patients in the location.	Displays patients with default values assigned

Acuity Summary	The average acuity level for the report time interval is calculated using the level of each completed assessment. The sum of each completed assessment's acuity level is divided by the total number of completed assessments.	Patient count by level includes complete assessments
Monthly Average Acuity	The average acuity level for the report time interval is calculated using the level of completed assessments and the location's default acuity level. Each patient has a minimum of one acuity level (or data point) per day; the patient has more than one data point per day if their acuity level changes. The average acuity level is the sum the value of each data point divided by the total number of data points.	N/A

Staff Manager takes the sum of the average acuity level at the start of each shift category partition for the past 6 weeks and divides that number by six.	N/A

Average Acuity Calculations in Assignment Manager

For organizations using the optional Assignment Manager application, average acuity levels are calculated as follows.

The application calculates the Location Average Acuity using the sum of each patient's current acuity level (whether from a completed assessment or the default acuity level) divided by the number of patients in the location.
The application calculates the Caregiver Average Acuity using the sum of each patient's current acuity level (whether from a completed assessment or the default acuity level) divided by the number of patients assigned to the caregiver.
