This section covers Clairvia Web features that work the same way for all users.
How Clairvia Web displays dates depends on the date settings of your Clairvia Web server and your computer. For example, if you are using a Windows computer, your Region and Language settings will control how Clairvia Web displays dates and which date separators, such as dashes and slashes, are used.
Based on your initial date settings, Clairvia Web supports the following short date formats.
The solution does not support short dates that require the use of text in mmm/dd/yy format, such as Mar/01/14. In cases where Clairvia Web writes out the month and year, it uses the format Month Year, such as December 2013. Email notification messages and Interface Manager configurations use the date format set on your Clairvia Web server.
Clairvia Web enforces a two-digit month and day numerical date format, adding a zero to single digit months and days. For example, if your date settings use the format d/m/yyyy, the solution will instead use a dd/mm/yyyy format. Similarly, Clairvia Web enforces a four-digit year format even if your date settings call for a two-digit year.
Due to limitations within Crystal Reports, Staff Manager Client reports honor your computer's selected date settings format. When necessary due to space limitations, Staff Manager may drop leading zeros from months and days. Date separators align to your computer's date settings.
For Staff Manager Client users, if you select an unsupported date format in Windows Region and Language settings, the solution will display the following message each time you log in and each time your computer date settings change.
The format of your system short date is not supported by this application:
The day setting or the month setting or both use names instead of numbers.
This application requires numbers to represent dates (such as 01/01/2013). Do you approve of a change to set the short date system settings to the supported numerical format?
Selecting NO will cause date format problems in this application.
Selecting YES will change your system to use numerical day and month formats.
Date formatting in Staff Manager Client has the following known limitations.
Staff Manager can accommodate environments in which organizations spanning time zones also share the same servers. Your Clinical Consultant sets each facility's time zone in Staff Manager Administrator, along with whether the facility uses Daylight Saving Time, where applicable. By default, the solution sets all facilities to use the time zone of your database server time.
Staff Manager uses the facility-based time zone setting uses the facility-based time zone setting for the following features:
Where appropriate, date and time displays include the time zone identifier, such as EST for Eastern Standard Time or MDT for Mountain Daylight Time. The solution updates the time zone identifier as you move through facilities so that it displays the time of the facility you are viewing. Because you can run audit reports across facilities, the solution writes all audit data using the database server time.
Reports that include a date and time stamp showing when the report was run use the time zone of your workstation.
Staff Manager receives its date and time information directly from your server, so that you never have to change the time and date settings for either Daylight Saving Time or Standard Time.
The Staff Manager suite is fully compatible with the Windows operating system (OS). It is not designed for compatibility with the Macintosh, Linux, or Android operating systems.
You can best view Clairvia Web using a desktop or laptop computer. While you can view Clairvia Web with smart phones and tablets (Windows, Android, or iPad), you may have difficulties navigating to and using some pages and features, such as the right-click context menus, depending on the display size and the device OS.
Clairvia Web has been optimized for use with Microsoft Internet Explorer in Compatibility View mode; however, we have made and continue to make enhancements to achieve cross browser compatibility. Our initial efforts have focused on high volume and high use pages accessed by employees on a regular basis, such as the My Requests page.
