The Target/Schedule page displays staffing information as graphs to help you make staffing decisions for the direct caregivers configured for Demand and Patient Events.
Both the Caregiver and Ratio Views use the following data to create staffing graphs.
The Caregiver View uses the following additional data:
The Ratio View uses the following additional data:
The Utilization range (as defined on the Demand Manager Facility Settings Utilization page) displays utilization in one hour and two hour increments over your selected period. How Demand Manager calculates utilization depends on your selected View option.
The graph always displays three days of data; it orients the center of the display to the current date and time by default.
To be displayed on the Target/Schedule page, profiles and locations must have Demand Settings configured. The application configures default Demand Settings automatically when a Clinical Consultant maps a location to a Profile during the Demand Manager implementation. You can update Demand settings on the Demand Manager Location Settings configuration page.
For a Global Skill to be available under the Target/Schedule page Selection Criteria, it must:
See Calculating Staffing Levels in Demand Manager for more information on how target staffing is calculated, including the effect of ADT and Other Patient Events.
When you select a Ratio view, the Demand History option is unavailable.
If you have set a State Mandated Ratio Skill and Nurse:Patient ratio, the Ratio views only use that skill when calculating ratios regardless of how many Global Skills you have selected.
Demand Manager saves your selections by your login, and displays them when you return to this page on subsequent log ins.
Your profile and location selections persist from page to page within Demand Manager. Once you select either a different profile or location, the Go button becomes available. If this is your first visit to this page, all profiles and locations associated with user security access are checked; however, the graph does not display until you click Go.
The ratio and caregiver views have an inverse relationship to each other. A high ratio correlates to lower care hours per patient, while a high number of caregivers correlates to higher care hours. In the ratio views, the utilization calculations were purposefully selected to align the Utilization ranges as set in Configure Facility Settings, where blue utilization indicates over staffing and yellow and red utilization indicate understaffing.
See The Target/Schedule Page Graph Options for more information about using the Graph Options.
